BROANNE was born cock-eyed, weighing in at 7lbs 5 ounces, the moon child of Brian Aiken and Joanne Weaver. Since its 2018 inception (yes an October baby, just like Brian and Joanne), the little sprout has defied classification, repeating only its mantra: going outside of ourselves to bring people together - bringing people together through going outside of ourselves……. spoken through a pouty, caked, Gerber-y mouth. The child is forwardly social, spunky, flamboyant, technologically resistant and 80’s in spirit.

The backstory: Joanne hails from the Bay Area, California and began in musical theater. As a child, she discovered she was a pretty horrid dancer but a pretty good singer. She later made her mark in NYC as an experimental jazz singer - recording electronic, sci-fi renditions of jazz classics in dual albums Interstellar Songbook I and II, which were also accompanied by 4 music videos. Brian has long been a drummer, keyboardist and composer, recording and touring with psych-pop outfit Suckers, playing in a family band, and writing and releasing his own music while traveling the world. If you attend a BROANNE show you can expect that it will be less of a performance and more of an experience. The band aims to include all of the audience into its creative process, and does this through catchy songs, theatrical experiments and a booty stick.
